An
important focus of the Bioactive Natural Products Center of Excellence
(BNPCE) is the development of students skilled in the varied aspects
of natural product discovery, evaluation and application. Departments
associated with the BNPCE are developing a natural products concentration
within the major.
Research
programs will be developed that take full advantage of the resources
available at both The University of
Tennessee and Oak Ridge National
Laboratory (ORNL). Undergraduate students eligible for honors
programs are encouraged to participate in the BNPCE mentoring programs.
Undergraduate and minority mentoring projects at ORNL are also being
developed, as many of the projects within the BNPCE are consistent
with the mission of the Department of Energy.
The
following departments/units are associated with BNPCE:
Ag
